DIABETES IN CHILDREN

DIABETES IN CHILDREN

Hypoglycemia in Kids with Type 1 Diabetes

Diabetes is a disease that over the years has been evolving and not only in adults but also in children and in a notorious way, we can also know that there are two types of diabetes that each can be treated in a certain way.

The best known diabetes in children is called juvenile diabetes or also as type 1 diabetes and in this type of diabetes the pancreas does not produce insulin which causes the blood to be low on sugar because the work of insulin is a hormone that helps the sugar or glucose can enter cells to give them energy.

We can also find diabetes 2 or also known as onset diabetes in older people, although it is already becoming very common to find this diabetes in younger people due to obesity and with this type 2 diabetes we obtain as a result that the bodies are not generating or using insulin properly.

Type 2 diabetes can be generated more easily in children with obesity, with relatives who have a history of overweight or children who are not active, a clear example can be seen in the children of African American, Hispanic, Native American or Native American children. Alaskan, Asian American, or Pacific Islander. But to reduce the risk of children getting this type of diabetes we can take into account the following recommendations.

  • Have them maintain a healthy weight.
  • Be sure they are physically active
  • Have them eat smaller portions of healthy foods
  • Limit time with the TV, computer, and video

Here are some tips to combat type and type 2 diabetes; for type 1 diabetes with the consumption of insulin and type diabetes with diet and exercise, otherwise you should take medications that help diabetes and insulin. To find out how you are managing your diabetes, you can take a test known as A1C.
